Warts are caused by the Human Papilomavirus. HPV enters the body in an area of broken skin. The virus causes the top layers of the infected skin to grow rapidly, producing a wart. The body has a hard time eliminating warts because warts hide in our own cells where the immune system cannot find or recognize them as being foreign. However, over time, sometimes years, the immune system finally “discovers” the wart virus and produces anti-bodies against it. At this point, all the warts are attacked and eliminated.
Warts can occur anywhere on the body. There are many different kinds of warts. “Common warts” appear most often on the hands, but they may appear anywhere on the body. They are rough, gray-brown, dome-shaped growths. “Plantar warts” occur on the bottom of the feet, are hard, thick patches of skin with dark specks inside the growth.
Flat warts are found on the face, arms, or legs. They are small (about 2-4 mm in diameter), have flat surfaces. and are pink, light brown, dark brown, or skin-colored yellow.
Filiform warts are generally found around the mouth, on or in the nose, or in the beard area. They are flesh-colored with jagged fingerlike edges.
Periungual warts are found under and around the toenails and fingernails. They appear as rough, irregular bumps. These warts are very painful to treat as the fingers are very sensitve with lots of nerve endings.
Genital warts occur on the genitals, around the anus, within the rectum or vagina, or on the cervix. Don’t use cryotherapy or salicylic therapy on genital warts – consult with an MD.
I own a body spa, a tri spa, and a five star resort shower from Oxygenics. I only cared about environmental benefits at first. Flows a 1/2 to 1/3 the pressure, using that fraction in water use and in my case natural gas for my one pass heater. Ends up saving me around 15 bucks a month in water and gas costs. Now, that said, it’s an awesome shower, with superior pressure and confort. Elegant build. And I know it will pay for itself in around 3 months. Great gift idea too…
You choose…. environmental or confort benefits. In this case they are both big, and not contradictory.
I’ve used this product off and on several times over the last few years. At first it was much more potent and worked almost instantly to cure razor bumps and irritation. However, i’ve noticed over the last couple of years or so the price continues to increase and the product itself seems more diluted and less effective. My last expensive bottle has almost no effect on my skin whatsoever. And I do use it as directed.
My advice would be to save a lot of money and use Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent (with salicylic acid). It is just as effective, if not more so than TendSkin.
Been using this product for a few years and it works very well. Before using it I tried almost all antiperspirants sold at the supermarket but I sweat through all of them even before my day started. This antiperspirant provides me with “wetness” protection for a few days depending on whether I go to the gym or not. Another great feature is that it goes on clean and clear.
For $25 vs the $99 Brookstone spa model on here that got a decent review, I decided to save $74. What turned me off on the $99 model by Brookstone CANNOT use bath salts or bath bomb bits or whatever – this model can. Its relatively simple in its design, and if you enjoy adding additives to your water to make your foot spa more enjoyable like myself, you might want to consider this.
So far, I think this did its job. One, it does keep the hot water warm for a pretty long time, about 25 minutes or so. Its vibrate feature is gentle so its not a “deep massage” but I found that my feet DID feel better afterwards, it could be a little bit better, I would give that a B+.
I have flat feet so this model was deep enough to cover my feet completely so I was pleased with that.
The yellow button is a little wonky for working with your toes unless you are more dexterous than me, but I used my heel to turn it on and off with ease.
The bubbles are pleasant and don’t cause splashing, I tried this on a hardwood floor and now feel safe about using this on carpet.
As for the bubbles feature being noisy, it isn’t anywhere near as noisy as a vacuum, its a definite hum but I have heard fans on laptops noisier than this. It isn’t so loud you cannot enjoy music over it! So that didn’t bother me at all either.
I am giving it four stars minus one star because I had to return the model I got due to the right foot not bubbling. Beyond that, I am happy with my purchase enough to return it and try again with the same model, which I think counts for something.
